  • @JakartaBoy Indian population is estimated to be around 1.2 billion at this time,so there is a sizable market for almost everything.
Whoops, sorry about that! I must have been working with data from 1960 or something. Thanks for the correction.

  • I would think that more people in India smoke cigarettes than use snuff. I don't know, but thats what I assume. Snuff is seen by many as something old... outdated perhaps.Cigarettes are more "modern" so it would seem. In my own experience, I don't know anyone who takes snuff other than myself and the people here. I know there must be many users, but I just wonder where they are. Also, with the Indian snuff, it seems to used orally more than in the nose, as a dentifrice. I can't imagine how brushing ones teeth with snuff would make them whiter, but perhaps it does...
  • An Indian I ran into IRL also said something about its being used in tribes/villages, same phrase sixphoto and jakarta have used, I didn't know much about this but I guess to go by this map "tribal" people in India would make up a pretty decent chunk of the population.

Another Indian I asked about this said it wasn't done much, but yeah like sixphoto said something that's "not done much" in a country of over a billion people is still going to be done quite a lot in absolute terms.
  • 7photo stock now in the country, just waiting for customs to give it the all clear.

Just wondering if there were any updates on the progress of this venture?
  • Yes, let us know, please!

  • I sent a pm to @indiansnuff yesterday about the same topic. I am such an avid fan of all of India's snuffs...I hope to hear some word soon.

He hasn't logged in since 4 April. Hope everything is OK.

Yes indeed - I knew it had been a while, but not that long, since he'd been around. I'd wondered if he was still having an issue with a card payment processor, which seemed to be a major hold-up, but he's always regularly updated everyone on what's happening. Hope it's nothing more serious........
  • Hello everyone.

Everything is OK here just been rather hectic in my personal life and the day job.

It's now all sorted so hopefully I can get back to the business of trying to sort out the payment processor.

    Thanks you.

I'm really looking forward to ordering from you if it turns out you find a way to ship to the US. I am really liking the Indian snuffs I've tried and would like to try some of the ones that aren't available on MrSnuff.
  • Sounds like its not happening.
  • Sadly it is looking like that is going to be the case.

I still am having issues trying to find a payment processor willing to accept me.

I can accept payment via bank transfers for UK based orders but sadly that is it.

I am very sorry to everyone that was looking forward to the shop,

I'm not going to stop trying but realistically it's looking very unlikely that I will find anything.

    Thank you

    thanks for the update, @indiansnuff
sorry the financial system is so tight-assed
  • This really bites! You've got awesome snuff that no one else has available. One could always go "old school". I've no problem sending cash payment to honest vendors such as yourself.

  • Thanks for the support guys.

I will be looking to still open the site, with the option to pay by bank transfer (or cash if people so wish) shortly.

To be honest western union is a possibility but it does have a bit of a bad rep
  • DO IT! I hope anyone here who has done business with you wouldn't hesitate to send cash (I know I wouldn't). I'd love to help spread the word. If you could get White Elephant (in bulk, perhaps) and some other favorites (6 Photos?) that might help. What the heck--a domain and hosting for a year is what, $60.00 US?

  • What ever happened? Seems to have just dead ended.
  • I am curious also. @indiansnuff did you end up getting this website going?
  • Damn, if this guy could get the website going, I would place his largest order for the Indian snuffs which still elude me.
  • I think you have to refer back to this post:

And that was pretty much all she wrote.  Jay from Jaxon's had said he'd find it difficult to get a card processor to accept him for various reasons, so the whole thing died, I think.  It was a shame, because he was so enthusiastic.  I think the website associated with the venture was still out there until a while back, but I just did a search for it and couldn't find it.  I'm not even sure if he's on the forum any more, although it would be really cool if he was, even just lurking.......
