I'm new here, so please forgive my ignorance, after buying everything I've now narrowed down what snuff is for me...it's definitely toasts..I've given away the ones I didn't like. But my question is do unopened toasts keep well ? If a unopened Irish 22 was in a kilner jar would it be ok in 2 years? I like to have a stockpile just incase.

Welcome aboard, @Hertfordshire! If you buy your snuff in tins, decant it to glass (jar) or plastic tub for longer term storage. But do open a lid once in a while, letting your snuff to breath a bit. Stored airtight / not vented, sometimes toasts go off and develop unpleasant smell. This issue for the most part can be fixed by airing, but it's better to prevent it happening at all.
