Recently I have started seeing posts on our snuff lovers forum by what I perceive to be right wing NRA gun carrying people. These guys are putting links in their posts to gun enthusiast sites. Even though I own lots of guns, I don't this forum should be a platform for right wing politics or any political views. I hope some of you agree with me.

  • This year I only grew one lonely tobacco plant because it snowed mid June. But I'm just finishing our new greenhouse before the snow flies. Perhaps I'll get some seeds of more traditional tobacco varieties and try my hand at snuffmaking once again. My last batch turned out nice, clove and peppermint, aged to perfection with a little wine backnote. My cat Thermos is still doing his thing catching mice, voles, and the occasional weasel.

You should share that Cuban stick snuff recipe he helped you along with!

  • Now I am watching this years Hopi Rustica slowly turn golden yellow. Soon I'll be cutting it, hanging it in barn. Last years crop was small, but I made some great snuff, especially when I mixed it some old Perique, and added some Bergamot oil and sodium carbonate. Its strong, but you don't notice it until you feel the nicotine. I wish I'd made a lot more.

  • The rustica from last year finally turned into some ass-kick strong snuff. If I can around to grinding all of it, I will give away packets to folks here who send me a self addressed, stamped envelope. It might be in a few weeks. I'll post it when its ready.

4 years later. I gave up my homemade snuff recipes to just taking store bought. However I have been altering snuffs with the addition of menthol crystals, flavored tinctures, and homemade vanilla extract made with Rum. So I still have my Cuban sticks somewhere. Perhaps this summer I'll try another batch. To me, the commercial snuffs are great. Compared to cigarettes cigars and chew the snuff companies are small potatoes. That to me assures fresh snuff, consistency of styles and overall high quality.
